Babisduc what a fantastic album! The most enjoyable album I've heard this year. Full of creativity and surprises, the improbable mix of styles works perfectly and keep you interested , pushing you to give it a new spin. Black, wave, death, crooning a la Gaahl... superb!

In the top 5 of 2022 AOTY, if not the #1... Favorite track: Blind.

Obstacle of Affliction Somehow this reminds me of being a kid and mixing all the different foundation sodas into a 'suicide' mix.
Excellent album in every way.
The Hammond organ really shines when it appears. An instrument you don't hear often in metal.
Hope there will be more from Nighted in the future.
Love it! Favorite track: Bleed.

about

Does Black Metal mix with 70s-era synth sounds à la Blade Runner and Jean- Michel Jarre? That's the question Ivo Henzi (vocals & guitars — ex-Eluveitie, Cellar Darling, Forest Of Fog) and Marc Petralito (synths, Appearance Of Nothing) asked themselves during a late and misty summer night in the enforced isolation of lockdown in 2020.

The resulting proof-of-concept is the band’s debut album Absence: an introspective journey rising from the soul's abysses to the universe's endless expanses, where fierce and aggressive sounds meet anthemic, epic soundscapes. Guitar riffs rooted in modern black metal meet analogue synthesisers and Hammond organ evoking the sound of the 70s and 80s, creating a unique and compelling take on extreme music.
